CONTINENTAL DRIFT: MEDITERRANEAN
Moises Saman photographed the central path of the modern migrant crisis, a sea route to Greece and a land scramble to potential salvation in the north. This was unprecedented mass human displacement with more than a million refugees and migrants reaching the shores of the Mediterranean in 2016 alone. They were desperate for safety and humanitarian assistance. Moises spent months covering their arrival starting in Greece and following the long hard journey across the continent north to Sweden where they were faced with yet another arduous task of trying to settle into a foreign and sometimes hostile new home.
